The Holy Spirit – Our Covenant Helper

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.“ John 16:7

Jesus makes it very clear, that it is good for us that He (Jesus) goes back to heaven in order for the Holy Spirit to come. Jesus was the comforter of mankind by His divine presence, that means you have to be around Him to be comfortable but what about people like you and me living far from Jerusalem? How can we be comfortable without His physical presence? By the Holy Spirit!

Jesus knew that and said to His disciples, “here I am with you physically today but the Holy Spirit can be everywhere at the same time; that is the Spirit that proceeds out of the Father”, said Jesus.

He said He would pray the Father to send us the Holy Spirit, the Comforter the Spirit of truth, because mankind would need Him: “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.“ John 14:16

“Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.“ John 16:13

The Holy Spirit is to be our guidance. The Holy Spirit helps us in all aspects of our lives – spirit, soul and body. Remember Jesus described the Holy Spirit as our comforter. That means He is here to make life comfortable for us and supply us comfort in the midst of the challenges of life.

The Holy Spirit is our number one helper in fulfilling destiny. He helps us to get saved, because the Bible says no one can say that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.“ 1 Cor. 12:3

He helps us in prayer when we do not know how to pray. “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.“ Romans 8:26-27

He reveals the mind of the Father to us and helps build up our faith. “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.“ 1 Cor. 2:10-11

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.“ Jude 20

The Holy Spirit is a person no Christian can do without; one that no other experience can substitute. He is the ever-abiding power of God made available to the saints. The Holy Spirit helps to boost and strengthen our faith by revealing the word of God and the mind of the Father to us.“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.“ John 14:26

He also enables us to do the word and to live a victorious Christian life.

The whole creation is groaning and travailing in pain, suffering under the bondage of corruption, waiting for the hour that the sons of God will manifest. Speaking about us as the church. But this manifestation can only be made possible by the operation of the Holy Spirit. He is the one in charge of the affairs of the kingdom of God on earth today.

And God promised us in His word that in the last days He is going to pour out His Spirit on us. “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my Spirit.“ Joel 2:28-29

And that began with the Apostles on the day of Pentecost.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.“ Acts 2:1-4

Don’t be left out. God is still pouring out His Spirit to them that ask Him.

This month in Life Kingdom Int’l, we shall be taking an in-depth look into the person and ministry of this precious Holy Spirit. Come with us and you will never be the same again!

God bless you
